My grandfather and his best friend took me out to dinner and the ballet tonight. I spent the whole car ride home agonisingly rehearsing in my head the way I would thank them for the evening. It still sounded awkward when I said it aloud. 

Sometimes I pretend not to remember details about people because having a good memory apparently equates to creepiness.
